A Contemplative Journey of Outer and Inner Discovery

2.02.2020 – 14.02.2020

We are returning to South India to make a visual documentary on Shiva and Parvati, focusing on temple imagery, mythology, and archetypal significance.

Travelling is most enjoyable when shared, so we open the invitation to all who are called to see this land of wonders. Together, we will explore the Indian culture in its modern and ancient aspects, enjoy the beauty of nature and find our way back to our true, nondual Self through meditation and self-inquiry.

The plan is to enjoy India, without hurrying from place to place. This is one of the reasons why we are hiring an SUV with driver, to have the freedom to move as we wish. We will take our time to enjoy the sites, to sit in rest and contemplation, to talk to the saints and people we meet on the way as we visit temples as old as 3000 years.

Naturally, our senses won't be ignored, we will swim in the ocean, eat all the Masala Dosa we can find, drink more coconuts than we can count, and be immersed in cultural experiences such as Yoga, music and dance.

For us, the highlight of this journey and what we are mostly looking forward to is to sit in contemplation on the mountain of Arunachala, a place of spiritual pilgrimage, where the silent sage Ramana Maharshi lived and shone his nondual wisdom. This is our greatest joy, to introduce you to the essence of Indian wisdom, as reflected by the teachings of Ramana Maharshi. At the end of each day, we will sit together for an hour of silent meditation.

''Ramana Maharshi is a true son of the Indian earth. He is genuine and, in addition to that, something quite phenomenal. In India he is the whitest spot in a white space. What we find in the life and teachings of Sri Ramana is the purest of India; with its breath of world-liberated and liberating humanity, it is a chant of millenniums.'' Carl Gustav Jung

''The goal of Eastern religious practice is the same as that of Western mysticism: the shifting of the center of gravity from the ego to the self.'' Carl Gustav Jung
